MANTECH INC. Releases Automated Uncapping and Capping of Sample Cups
for Automated Alkalinity and More
(MANTECH INC., Guelph ON, CAN) –MANTECH INC, a manufacturer of automated multi-parameter, titration, BOD and COD laboratory instruments has released SampleProtect™. SampleProtect, an add-on option for AutoMax122 and 197 samplers, automatically removes caps and places caps back on sample cups.
During the course of analysis, samples may need to be protected from environmental contamination such as CO2 absorption. By utilizing MANTECH’s SampleProtect, the inert caps protect the samples from environmental contamination. The caps have an embedded magnet, therefore, once the sample is ready for analysis, an electromagnet, completely controlled by the PC-Titrate software, automatically removes the cap allowing the sample to be analyzed. The MANTECH proximity sensor confirms that the cap has been removed and allows the analysis to proceed.
The unique functionality of SampleProtect also makes it effective for sample preparation and analysis tasks where the sample is required to be uncapped and capped multiple times. For example, uncap, prepare a sample for digestion/reaction, place the cap back on the sample cup and repeat for an entire batch of samples. Turn on MANTECH’s dry block heater for a set time, cool the samples and uncap each sample to titrate or analyze by other means such as spectrophotometry.
